Charles Louis Chevalier was a french physicist and optician. Made lots improvements in various mathematical and physical devices, especially in microscopes.
He was the first to produce microscopes with achromatic lenses (1823), introduced double lenses in telescopes (1834), and used such lenses with daguerreotype. He opened a photo studio in 1841in Paris.
