    American football player

    Ronald "Po" James (born March 19, 1949) is an American former professional footballrunning back who played for four seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1972–1975.

    He was selected by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 1972 NFL draft. He played college football at New Mexico State.

    Early life

    James attended New Brighton High School in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, where he lettered in football for three years.[1] He started playing football during his sophomore year, rushing for 625 yards.

    He did not play as a junior, but as a senior, he rushed for 1,422 yards, along with 2,211 yards of total offense.[2] He set the Beaver County scoring record for football with 200 points during his senior season,[3] which stood for 22 years.[4] He was a unanimous all-state selection during his senior season.
