    Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon (French:[ʒɔʁʒlwiləklɛʁkɔ̃tdəbyfɔ̃]; 7 September 1707 – 16 April 1788) was a French naturalist, mathematician, and cosmologist.
